Coconut oil crazy

I’m crazy about the stuff!

There are many natural oils I use on my hair and skin, but this oil has to be my favourite…

First of all I’d like to thank my beloved friend Coconut Oil for the vast amount of growth my hair has done in the last year. I use it on my hair and scalp once a week and not only has it grown, it’s become so healthy, soft and shiny too. My scalp no longer gets dry as the oil prevents this. I was scared to cut my bad ends because I was afraid my hair wouldn’t grow back at all until coconut oil changed the game. Now I regularly trim my hair and it grows back within 6 months. The vitamins and essential fatty acids naturally found in coconut oil nourish the scalp and help to remove sebum build-up from hair follicles.

Once in a while I do a coconut oil hair treatment. I coat my hair in the oil and leave in in overnight, and then wash in the morning using a non-sulphate shampoo. Leaves my hair feeling so soft! Be sure to wrap your head in a towel on a bonnet so you don’t get a greasy pillow case!

I also use this as a moisturiser for my face. I don’t use it every day, maybe 2-3 times a week but if ever I have a bath instead of a shower I’m always sure to put around a tablespoon into my hot bath in order for it to soak into my skin. Sometimes I don’t even feel as if I need to moisturise my body after as I do not use a wiping motion when I towel dry my skin – I pat dry to be sure I don’t wipe away any moisture.

The hype is real, coconut oil works. Here is a picture of the brand I use. You can get this at Holland and Barrett for £9.99.

I recon it’s worth the pennies, as it can be used for so many things; I even use it in my cooking!

If you haven’t tried already I suggest you go out and get yourself some. Let me know how it goes girls.
